Back in 2004, when Jiri Novotny founded Dextronet, the aim was to come up with, sell and support software that has a great design and has the capability to make the user’s life better. When Dextronet set out to develop the Swift To-Do List application, the goal was to come up with the best possible task management software for Windows. And it managed to do just that – it created a user friendly, powerful, and properly good to-do list software for Microsoft’s Windows operating system.

To get started with the trial version of Swift To-Do List, you need to download a 15.5MB installation file onto your machine. The application can be installed on top of 32 and 64-bit editions of Windows 7, Vista, and XP. Installing the application is a simple process that involves running the 15.5MB installation file, agreeing with the license, and hitting Install. The setup wizard does not let you pick the installation directory nor does it let you choose if you want a desktop shortcut.

The first time you run Swift To-Do List, you will be presented with a Quick Start Guide. You are very well advised to go through the guide’s 7 steps so that you can get a quick idea of how to use the application. If you want to check out the guide at a later time, you will find it in the Help menu.

There are three main panes on Swift To-Do List’s interface. The pane to the left lists your to-do lists, the pane to the right lists your tasks, and the pane in the bottom right hand side presents the task you chose from the pane above. At the top you have buttons for adding tasks, accessing the Settings menu, and so on. And in the upper left hand corner you have the traditional File Menu.

Swift To-Do List provides support for hotkeys, and that makes using the application a lot faster. To create a new to-do list, you need only press Ctrl + R. You will get to pick a name and an icon for the new list. In each list you create you can put as many tasks as you want. To create a new task you need only press Ctrl + T; press Ctrl + H to create multiple tasks. When you create a new task, you will be asked to provide a name, pick a task priority, choose the task type, choose if you want a reminder, add any notes you want, attach files, folders or emails, and select if you want the task to be recurring.

There are three Swift To-Do List editions to choose from: Standard, Professional, and Ultimate. The trial version lets you switch between these three editions – you can do so when you launch the application and from the Help menu.

Easily create and manage to-dos with the powerful yet user friendly Swift To-Do List application.

Pros

Swift To-Do List works with 32 as well as 64-bit Windows editions. You are presented with a Getting Started Guide that helps you better understand how to use Swift To-Do List. Hotkeys are supported, making it easier to create tasks and to-do lists. Use the application to set up reminders. There are three Swift To-Do List editions to choose from and the trial lets you switch from one to another (the trial can be used for free for 30 days).

Cons

You can’t pick installation directory nor can you choose if you want a desktop shortcut.
